Are you headed to our Junior Deer Camp next week? If so you will see a very welcome addition to the campsite. Thanks to all the volunteers, workers and the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge for making this ramada project happen.

Also, the location of the camp was listed incorrectly in a few spots. Camp is located approximately 8 miles west of the town of Arivaca near Milepost 4 of the Arivaca-Sasabe Road. The best landmark to use for the entrance is a communications tower on the south side of the Arivaca-Sasabe Highway. We will have signs on the highway for where to enter camp.

There are certain times of the day when the sun is shining on us in the tree stand. It can cause our shadow to become visible. We must watch our movements and stay disciplined if there are deer in the area. One wrong move and the deer will see our shadow move as they are feeding. Of course the deer will spook and it can sometimes bring an end to our hunt. As Christians if we are walking in the light then there will be eyes on us as well. We must make sure that people see the love of Jesus when they look at us. When you are in the light people will be watching and waiting for you to make a mistake. Stay disciplined and have faith that God will give you endurance and strength to stay on the right path so that we can be an example to others. If there is no light shining then there is no shadow. The deer can’t see us move but when it comes to our Christian walk if we are in darkness then people can’t see Christ and we are not an example. Just as there are certain times of the day when our shadow is visible there are certain times in life when our lives are visible to others. Stay disciplined. Stay obedient. Watch how you move and how you act. Let’s be an example and be a shining light on a hill for others to see. As hunters we need to be camoflauged and still in the woods but as Christians we are called to be a light and move when we have the opportunity.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven
